The Original Vessels

1st-6th Centuries AD - Pre and Early Christianity
The art of glassblowing became prominent throughout the Roman Empire immediately preceeding the birth of Jesus Christ. Original glass artifacts were found all throughout the Holy Land, including Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Galilee. The earliest of these blown-glass vessels were excavated in Syria and Palestine. The original vessels were exceedingly expensive in comparison with today's standards, due to the rarity of glass and glass-makers, and also due to the amount of time and skill necessary to create such beautiful works of art. Hence the wealthy were the exclusive patrons of the artform.
Today you can find original pieces in various museums around the world, including the Israeli museum in Jerusalem.

The Art of our Roman Glass Replicas

Our reproductions are hand crafted by artisans who live and craft in the Holy city of Jerusalem. Their replication of the priceless originals is as yet unequaled by anyone in the world. Their dedication to traditional techniques and attention to even the smallest of details has made it extremely difficult for even the most educated of archaeologists to determine differences from the originals. In has even been rumored that years ago a small number of these reproductions were sold as originals to certain collectors for many thousands of dollars.
The artisans, using secret family techniques, and tools that have changed little in over two-thousand years, hand-blow the glass and then apply a patina. In order to obtain an aged look, the vessels are baked in special ovens at specified temperatures.
