This web site is maintained by [ SWC Software ]
The art of glass blowing became prominent throughout the Roman Empire and Egypt right before and during the time of Jesus Christ. The original glass vessels were found in archeological excavations all around the Holy Land, especially in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the pyramids and tombs of Cairo, Galilee and the Sea of Galilee.
The earliest known types of Roman blown-glass vessels were made right before the time of Jesus Christ in Syria and Palestine. In the early days the glass was very expensive, especially the transparent glass. These vessels were small and primitive and were used by the richest people of the time to hold their perfumes and valuable liquids, as you can appreciate in the replicas on this page.
Today you can see these original glass vessels in the Israeli Museum in Jerusalem and in archaeological museums around the world.
